Every fall, a new school year brings new classes, Every fall, a new school year brings new classes, new teachers, and new routines. For a lot of kids, that transition can feel bigger than it should. The first days of school can feel like an uphill climb with a lot of uncertainty.

But what if, before school even starts, a kid already has a place, a circle, they belong to?

They’re part of a team, a routine, a sense of connection during a time of transition, and that feeling follows them right into the classroom.

Last year LPF supported 655 schools throughout the 2025-2026 school year. We were able to reach over 6,550 kids, helping them make friends, learn, and grow.

Access to sports isn’t just about playing a game. Research has consistently linked participation in youth sports, particularly team sports, with stronger social connections, higher self-esteem, and an easier adjustment to new environments and routines. @aspenprojectplay

That’s why sports matter. They don’t just build athletes, they build community and a sense of belonging.

Every kid deserves that circle.

As the world watches some of the best tennis players compete on one of the sport’s biggest stages, it’s worth remembering that every player had to start somewhere.

Maybe it was a racquet in their hands for the first time in PE class.
Maybe it was their first practice.
Maybe it was the moment they felt joy trying something new.

For kids, that first experience can be the beginning of something much bigger: building confidence, finding community, learning resilience, and discovering a sport they can carry with them for years to come.

But that first experience isn’t possible for every child without access to the right equipment.

That’s why every day, we work to make sure more kids have the chance to get out there, get in the game, and discover where their own love of sport begins. ♥️🎾
