Give via Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

DAFs (Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, etc.) are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicles in the US. This is because DAFs are one of the most tax-advantageous ways to give. With a DAF, you can make grant-giving recommendations from the account to IRS-approved charities like LPF!

When making a contribution, be sure to indicate which location you would like to support (Greater Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Western NY, Central OH, Southeast MI, or Atlanta) in the memo or note “general support.”

Host your own fundraiser

Create your own peer-to-peer fundraising page for your birthday, wedding, bar/bat mitzvah, or other milestone. There are many ways you can fundraise for us – reach out to Kira Venturini, Development and Partnerships Manager, at kira@levelingtheplayingfield.org for any questions or ideas you may have.

Donate appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds

By donating stock instead of selling it, you may be able to deduct the full market value and avoid capital gains tax. In most cases, ownership of your assets can be electronically transferred. To donate stock, please reach out to Carrie Stringfellow at carrie.stringfellow@morganstanley.com.

Federal Employee Giving Program / Combine Federal Campaign (CFC)

The CFC gives federal workers, retirees, and government contractors an efficient, cost-effective, and employee-focused opportunity to support the causes closest to their hearts. During the campaign season, you may designate LPF as a recipient of your contribution by using CFC Number 30201 or United Way of the National Capital Area Designation 9736.

Make an IRA distribution

If you are 70½ or older, you may make a gift to LPF directly from your IRA to satisfy part or all of your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.

Make a gift to LPF in your will or trust (bequests)

To leave LPF in your will is to leave behind a legacy of equity in sports and recreation. Your contribution will help us to continue increasing access to youth sports and recreation, helping kids from all communities enjoy the mental and physical benefits of sports.

When planning your estate, feel free to use the language below to support LPF:

To leave a specific amount or percentage of your will:

"We had a homeless youth who could not play high school football, after making the team and being academically qualified, because he nor his family could pay the $200 uniform/equipment fee imposed by the school for all student/athletes who didn't have their own equipment. He missed out on his first year as a result. However, thanks to Leveling The Playing Field he was able to play last year and is playing again this year. Now he is a senior and is expected to go to college to earn a degree and continue his football career on the college level."

"Northwood Baseball League has always had challenges when it comes to the kids having the proper equipment on the field. LPF's donations have allowed the league to grow and the kids to have a big smile on their face when we give them equipment that are new to them."

"The partnership we have with LPF has allowed us to redirect funds normally spent on required PE curriculum materials to other vital initiatives such as parent engagement and attendance/behavioral incentives for our students."

The Foundation Schools

"The donation to Powell Elementary School was timely and allowed for an increase in student participation of soccer. Thank you Leveling the Playing Field!"

Powell Elementary School

"LPF has helped our athletic program greatly. We were able to start a girls soccer program and without the donations of LPF, we wouldn't have had enough soccer balls, gloves, cleats, and shin guards. This organization reaches out to the school instead of the school reaching out to them which clearly shows their investment in wanting to improve students overall experience when it comes to high school athletics."
