Monica Scharf

Regional Development and Partnerships Manager
LPF National

Monica joined LPF at the beginning of 2025. She left her home state of Ohio to earn her Bachelors’ degree in Sport Management from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. After graduation, Monica jumped right into the sports non-profit world with a local organization that connected underserved youth into sports programs and equipment at no cost to the families. Monica played travel softball growing up, and, currently, loves thrifting and flipping furniture.

As the world watches some of the best tennis players compete on one of the sport’s biggest stages, it’s worth remembering that every player had to start somewhere.

Maybe it was a racquet in their hands for the first time in PE class.
Maybe it was their first practice.
Maybe it was the moment they felt joy trying something new.

For kids, that first experience can be the beginning of something much bigger: building confidence, finding community, learning resilience, and discovering a sport they can carry with them for years to come.

But that first experience isn’t possible for every child without access to the right equipment.

That’s why every day, we work to make sure more kids have the chance to get out there, get in the game, and discover where their own love of sport begins. ♥️🎾

Every year, LPF hosts an online fundraiser featuring an exciting lineup of items, including gift cards, signed sports memorabilia, event tickets, game-day experiences, and so much more.

The best part is that every bid directly supports our mission to give more kids the opportunity to play and experience the many benefits of sports. ⚽🏀⚾🎾

The auction runs for one week, so get ready to bid, have some fun, and help us expand access to sports for ALL kids!
