Eboni Preston-Laurent

Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, USA Lacrosse
Board Member

As the first full-time staff devoted to diversity equity and inclusion at USA Lacrosse, Eboni Preston-Laurent was hired in 2013 to develop, prioritize and implement strategies to increase opportunities and access for underrepresented communities. As the sportโ€™s National Governing Body, Eboni regularly works with board members, volunteers, coaches and staff to support the organizationโ€™s equity and outreach efforts. Over the past eight years at USAL, Eboni has worked with leaders nationwide to create resources and implement strategic initiatives to support marginalized communities.

Her work at USA Lacrosse led to her selection as one of The Baltimore Sun’s “Top 40 Women To Watch” in 2014. She was also selected for the DEI Champion Award by the National Diversity Council in 2021. Along with her USA Lacrosse duties, she continues to serve on several prominent boards and committees including the George Washington University School of Business Women in Leadership Program Advisory Council and Texas A&Mโ€™s Laboratory for Diversity and Center for Sport Management Research and Education advisory board.

Prior to her work at USA Lacrosse, Eboni coached collegiate lacrosse at Sweet Briar College where she also served as a professor and assistant facilities director. During her time there, she co-founded the Common Ground program designed to support the academic, emotional and socio-cultural adjustment of new minority students to college life at SBC.  Prior to that, Eboni served in assistant coaching roles at both Emerson College and Endicott College.

A Maryland native, Eboni was an outstanding athlete at the St. Bonaventure University, where she earned a degree in journalism/mass communications in 2008 and her masterโ€™s degree in education from Endicott College in 2010. She was also inducted into the St. Bonaventure Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020.

The Girl's Lacrosse team @GroverMS hadn't been abl The Girl's Lacrosse team @GroverMS hadn't been able to field players due to them not having the proper equipment to play.

So, their coach made a visit to LPF Philadelphia and got his players cleats, helping them move at full speed with confidence. The cleats also allowed them to develop their dodges more precisely and perform at their best without restriction.

For these inner-city kids, being able to have cleats for the first time in their lives has helped these girls who'd never played an organized sport before.

"This has made them feel like their endeavor is special and meaningful," said Michael Galbraith.

However, with a recent donation from LPF, they were able to bring back free baseball equipment to their players!

"Thank you for providing equipment for us to continue providing this adaptive baseball clinic, said Glenda Smith. We can now allocate these funds toward providing more clinics for our kids."

Thank you for letting us be a partner! A big shoutout to @sokidssoar for the ๐—”๐—ช๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—ข๐— ๐—˜ video.
